Refund and Returns Policy

At Infinite Batteries, we are committed to providing high-quality batteries and accessories with excellent customer service. We understand that sometimes you may need to return or exchange a product. This policy outlines your rights and our procedures for returns, exchanges, refunds, and handling faulty items. This policy does not affect your statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Your Right to Return Unwanted or Incorrectly Ordered Goods

You have the right to return any product for a refund or exchange if it is unwanted, incorrectly ordered, or does not meet your expectations, provided the following conditions are met:

  • You notify us within 30 days of receiving your order that you wish to return the item.
  • After notification, you have an additional 14 days to return the item to us.
  • The product must be unused, in its original unopened packaging, with all seals, shrink-wrap, labels, and accessories intact.
  • The item must be in a resellable condition, free from damage, marks, or signs of use. For batteries, this means no evidence of installation, charging, or discharge.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure the item reaches us safely. We recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service, as proof of postage alone is not sufficient.
  • Returns shipping costs are your responsibility unless the return is due to our error (e.g., incorrect item sent). We do not offer free returns for change-of-mind purchases due to the specialized nature of battery shipping regulations and costs.
  • For large or heavy items (e.g., industrial or heavy-duty batteries delivered by pallet), return shipping must use a compatible method, and costs may be higher (e.g., £50-£100 + VAT depending on size and location).

To initiate a return:

  • Contact us via email at sales@infinitebatteries.co.uk or phone at 01254 690069, providing your order number, reason for return, and photos if applicable.
  • We will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number, which must be included with the returned item.
  • Package the item securely to prevent damage during transit.
  • Send returns to: Infinite Batteries, Wellington Mill, Bolton Road, Blackburn, BB2 3PZ.

Upon receipt, we will inspect the item. If it meets the conditions, we will process a full refund (excluding original shipping costs) or exchange within 14 working days, typically faster (1-3 days). Refunds will be issued to the original payment method. PayPal refunds appear immediately; card refunds may take 3-5 days to show on statements.

Faulty or Damaged Items

If you receive a faulty, damaged, or not-as-described item:

  • Notify us within 24 hours of delivery with details and photos of the issue to sales@infinitebatteries.co.uk.
  • We will provide instructions for return, including a free returns label or collection service at our expense.
  • You have up to 30 days to return the item after notification.
  • For faulty items, we cover all return shipping costs. If the fault is confirmed, we will refund the full amount (including original shipping) or send a replacement free of charge.
  • If no fault is found (e.g., the battery is simply discharged and needs recharging), we will return the item to you at your cost, without additional testing fees.
  • Common non-fault issues include: insufficient charging, alternator problems, or vehicle electrical leaks. We recommend professional testing before returning.

Guarantee and Warranty

All products come with a minimum 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. Some products may have extended warranties (e.g., 2-5 years), as specified on the product page.

  • Warranty covers failures due to defects, such as internal short-circuits (voltage >10.5V).
  • Exclusions: Damage from improper installation, over-discharge (voltage <10.5V unless <0.5V), sulphation, leaks, explosions, or misuse (e.g., wrong application, exposure to extreme conditions).
  • For leisure/marine batteries in commercial, industrial, or high-cycle use (e.g., taxis, electric fences, live-aboard), warranty is limited to 6 months.
  • To claim: Provide proof of purchase, photos, and details. We may require return for testing.
  • If valid, we repair, replace, or refund at our discretion. No lifespan guarantee; battery life depends on usage, temperature, and maintenance.

Cancellations

Under UK law, you can cancel your order within 30 days of delivery for consumer purchases. Notify us in writing (e.g., email “Cancel Contract” with order details). Once delivery begins, you cannot cancel shipping services but can return as per above.

  • Pre-delivery cancellations: Full refund if not dispatched.
  • We reserve the right to charge a 25% restocking fee for returns outside 30 days, at our discretion.
